Process Reflection II
I believe I am on the right track to completing the Capstone project on time. I have done a good amount of research into my topic so far to prepare for writing my first draft of the written component of the project. This includes historical research, scientific research, and personal exploration into how I can connect my topic to my life. I have not been able to meet with my experts yet because of the current Covid-19 pandemic, but emails have been sent to figure something out a solution in that regard.
A concept that I have discovered that others must understand in order to really understand the most important idea of my project is that all of the artists I am highlighting in my project are all expressing activism in different ways; not just their varying art forms, but also in the voices that are portraying in their art. They need to understand that these pieces are more than strokes of paint, beats on a drum, or counts of eight. They are revolutions.
An experience I could create to allow someone to discover the central idea of my project is by creating my own piece of art as my way of speaking up about an issue I see in my community, the country, or the world. My artifact could be something I paint, draw, sing, or choreograph. In order to complete my artifact(s) I will need a spark of inspiration and time. The more time I get to work on this, the more meaningful both the outcome and process will be for me and my audience.
I do not have many questions at this point, but I most likely will have some the further we go into this project.
